I’ve been haunted by the suicide of the acid attack victim I posted about a few days ago, Fakhra Yunus of Pakistan. Here’s another Pakistani woman, Naeema Azar, who suffered an acid attack and had the courage to allow me to tell her story in print and video back in ‘07. She’s with her son, Ahmed, who guides her around, since she is now blind. I’m awed by the courage of survivors like Naeema and the work of groups like Progressive Women’s Association of Pakistan that demand justice and an end to the sale of disfiguring acid. We’re with you, Naeema!
